serve in safety-net pediatric clinics across the Kansas City metro area. Donations of new books for children birth to age 5 are preferred. Used books should be gently used (covers and pages intact, clean and readable). Hard cover picture books with brightly colored pictures and interesting stories are ideal. Board books are greatly appreciated, and Spanish and bilingual books are in great demand. Books about religion and sensitive issues like divorce, abuse or death are not accepted. Food: We are in need of non-perishable food items such a canned corn, tuna, soup, green beans,
mixed vegatables, pie filling, gravy. Boxed items such as dressing, cake mix, macaroni & cheese, Hamburger Helper and crackers and snacks. We do have the ability to freeze up to ten frozen turkeys for our holiday meals for the families. We are always on the lookout for condiments too. Snacks and candies for the kids for Christmas would be great too.
Clothing: Sizes triple extra large in sweat pants, sweat shirts and jackets and coats. Sizes 13w and
14w tennis shoes and dress shoes. Suits in this size are also needed for our men that could be retuning to new jobs. Women's clothing in size 18 - 20, blouses, sweaters, sweats, shirts and slacks.
Gifts: Toys for children ages 3 - 10 both boys and girls. Board games for al ages and educational and
entertaining video games are always on the lists of the kids we are working with . Coloring books, young adult reading books and cross word puzzle books are also on the lists.
Bedding: We have two families who are in need of a king size bed and a queen size bed and the
mattresses to go wtih them. Blankets, pillows, sheets and comforters for our families who do not have heat during the winter months.
All Other: Body and shower soap, shampoo, toothpaste, baking soda, panty liners, toilet paper, razors
and blades for both men and women, deodarant and kleenexes. we have some families who do not have any form of heat or air conditioning. They are need of heat pumps that would both heat and cool their house. Four units total are needed.
