Mobile Workforce Management System at Exelon
Abstract
During the last 3 years, Exelon has worked to deliver a new Mobile Workforce Management
System that provides real-time crew management, electronic assignment, and field work status
information. The system combines wireless, GPS, and electronic mapping technologies with
commercially available mobile workforce management software. It is integrated with ComEd’s
Outage Management, Customer Information and Management, and Work Scheduling Systems,
along with the back office to provide real-time field work updates. The Mobile Workforce
Management System was delivered to over 4300 employees, who support the operation of 12
departments across ComEd and PECO, both Exelon units.

The 70th anniversary celebration in
London was a historical Conference,
discussing the first days of the Institute
of Polish Engineers in Great Britain

and dedicated to the memory of Mr.
Richard Kaczorowski, former President
of Poland in exile who died in the
Smolensk plane crash on 10 April 2010.
President Kaczorowski was an honorary
member of the Institute of Polish
Engineers in Great Britain. On the eve of
the Conference, attendees went to site of
the 2012 Olympic Village where some
of the members of the organization are
occupying key management positions. In
attendance were few engineers that were contributing to the World War II effort in the Battle of
Britain. After the war the Institute members were involved in the engineering and construction
efforts of the Polish Social and Cultural Center in London. In the name of PAEA, Dr. Jan
Plachta
presented Prof. Chmielowiec, the president of the Institute of Polish Engineers in Great
Britain, an engraved congratulatory plaque.

World Convention of Polish Engineers was held at the
Technical University of Warsaw (Politechnika Warszawska)
on 8-10 September 2010.
There were about 300 polish engineers
in attendance from all over the world. There were numerous
expertise sessions and discussions on various areas of
engineering. Discussed were ways to improve technical education
system in Poland, how to make it more efficient and bring it to the
level of leading industrial nations. Conference was very well
organized with w relatively large group of Polish engineers from
United States and Canada. At the conclusion of first day of
deliberations attendees were honored with an exceptional elegant
and entertaining gala in the newly renovated main hall of
Politechnika Warszawska. Next day a similar reception was
prepared for attendees in the palace on ulica Czackiego 3/5, the Headquarter of NOT (Naczelna
Organizacja Techniczna). Conference ended with a recommendation to establish a World Forum
of Polish Engineers that will periodically meet to discuss recent developments and provide
guidelines for future actions.
PAEA was represented by Dr. Jan Plachta, Janusz Kulczuga and Leszek Kocjan.
