Accommodation at The Sidings, Penryn
The Sidings provides contemporary student accommodation for 233 students from both
the University of Exeter (Cornwall Campus) and University College Falmouth. The
residence is managed by CRM, the market leader in the management of student
accommodation across the country. It is conveniently located within a short walk from
both the Tremough Campus and the local amenities of Penryn. It is also close to
Penryn Station providing easy access to buses and trains to Falmouth and Truro.
Study bedrooms
All rooms are fully furnished with wardrobe, desk, 4ft-wide double bed and en-suite
shower room. Each room has data points for internet and IPTV. The vast majority of
rooms are standard en suite however there are a few medium and large en suite rooms
which differ in price. There are a number of study bedrooms which have been adapted
for students with accessibility needs; these rooms have a larger shower area and a
double bed.
Communal kitchen/living area
There are between 4 – 7 rooms per flat with students sharing a fully fitted kitchen/dining
area as well as a living area with sofas and a T.V.
Studio Flats
There are 4 self contained studio rooms comprising a larger study bedroom with en
suite shower room and kitchenette to include a fridge/freezer, combi oven, hot plates,
sink and drainer. All studio rooms are DDA compliant so can accommodate students
with accessibility needs.
Students with disabilities, access needs or medical conditions should make them
known on the online application form, as we have a range of accommodation available
(including adapted rooms) and are committed to providing a supportive environment to
all our students.
Who will manage the accommodation?
CRM will provide an on-site management team who will be responsible for the letting
administration, security, maintenance, cleaning, launderette, health and safety
compliance and IT services. For more information please see theirWe will be
working closely with CRM throughout the academic year to ensure a quality provision of
accommodation.
How do I apply?
 Applications for accommodation within this new development will be made via our online system Room Service, and we will allocate you to accommodation before passing your details to CRM.  You will then be contacted by CRM and asked to continue your booking online using their system; a £400 booking fee will need to be paid at this point.  CRM will then make you an offer of accommodation and once the tenancy starts, the booking fee will be converted to the deposit which will be refunded providing there is no damage to the room/communal area at the end of the contract.  CRM also require residents to pay a total of 4 weeks rent at least 10 days before the contract starts in order for you to be able to pick up your keys.  Details of two guarantors will be required to complete the contract acceptance What’s provided in the kitchen/
