Permanent Cosmetics at Inflicting Beauty
Let us help you look and feel your best!
Permanent Make-Up: A semi-permanent coloring of the eyebrows, eyeliner, lips and
beauty marks. This procedure is done with an iron oxide pigment that is absorbed into the body over a course of time. The following factors how long the pigment lasts:
1. Your body’s ph level: A body with an acidic ph level (below 7.0) will not retain
pigment as well as a person who is more alkaline (having a ph above 7.0). Vitamins and minerals, especially calcium, will help raise your ph level. Magnetic therapy is another helpful alternative. It is important that we know about all the medications you are taking even if you do not think it applies to the procedure. Medications can affect the body’s ph balance, which can alter the hue of the pigments.
2. Healing is Your Responsibility: We will provide you with a sample pack of
Vitamin A&D Ointment that should be used sparingly. A very thin coat should be applied to your permanent make-up 2-3 times a day for 5-7 days. If you are allergic to this product, extra virgin olive oil will work when used sparingly. A flaky top layer of skin will come off in 5-7 days—this is normal. When peeling occurs, stop using the ointment and switch to a thin coat of extra virgin olive oil or facial moisturizer for the remainder of the healing to lock in moisture.
3. Sunlight, Tanning Beds, and UV Rays: Will increase the absorption of
permanent make-up pigment. Avoid swimming, soaking, saunas, direct sun exposure, and tanning beds for extended periods of time while healing. Once your permanent make-up is healed, protect your investment with SPF 30 or higher.
Sunblock should always be applied 30 minutes prior to sun exposure. Lip balm makes a 45 SPF that is convenient and easy to apply. Wearing oversized sunglasses and/or sun visor will also help protect your eyebrows and eyeliner.
4. MRI Treatments: Will lighten the color of your permanent make-up. Please notify
your doctor that you have permanent iron oxide make-up prior to an MRI or X-rays. Shielding these areas may lessen pigment damage.
5. Warning about Permanent Lip Liner procedure: If you have ever experienced
cold sores, having your lips permanently tattooed will cause a break out. This can be prevented by taking prescription Valtrex for 3 days before the procedure (take recommended dose as prescribed by doctor). L-Lysine is a supplement that can be purchased over the counter at any local drugstore and is a natural alternative that we highly recommend in place of prescription Valtrex. (Recommended dose L-Lysine: one 625mg tablet twice daily for 14 days prior to procedure. Ask your doctor before taking any supplements).
6. Color Selection: Darker colors last longer, but that doesn’t mean black or dark
brown are the right colors to create your perfect make-up look. Perfect colors for blonde to light brown hair, in some cases need to be touched up once a year. WE SUGGEST applying the pigment that is the correct match for your eyes, hair and skin tone, even if that means more touch-ups! You will never be happy if your permanent cosmetics are the wrong color or look for you. If you wish, we offer test patches for allergic reaction and color verification. You can choose several different colors for this procedure. We will tattoo freckle-sized dots at the base of your hairline or behind your ear. There will be a charge of $85.00 for a test
selection. A $6.00 fee for set-up and biohazard disposal will also apply.
